5 mental health accounts on social media you can *actually* trust

Picture this: You're scrolling through your socials and come across something marketed as "mental health advice." But you just can't tell if it's legit or can even be trusted. We've *all* been there—and tbh, it can be tough to know what to believe on social media, especially with so much floating around. That's why we've compiled a list of five accounts that you can turn to for real mental health advice.

1. @drjulie

If your mental health has been struggling, Dr. Julie's got you covered. She's known for her genius vids breaking down mental health concepts. Not only is she a clinical psychologist, but she has a number one best-selling book. Plus, her content is nothing but validating and can help you see things in a new light.

2. @psych2go

With their entertaining vids filled with adorable cartoons, Psych2go vids make learning about psychology *actually* fun. From ways to be happier to how to cope with stress, they break down everything there is to know about mental health in a way that makes sense. And one of the best parts? Amanda Silvera (aka the person who does the voice-overs for the channel) has one of the most comforting voices ever.

3. @the.holistic.psychologist

According to her Insta bio, Dr. Nicole LePera will "teach you to heal and consciously create a new version of yourself." And that's nothing but the truth! She has nearly 7 million followers on Insta, and there's a reason for it—from her insightful Insta quotes to her digital community, this certified psychologist is so worth a follow.

4. @therapyinanutshell

Therapy in a Nutshell makes you feel like you're getting a free therapy session from expert Emma McAdam. In each of her vids, she dives deep into how our brains work and cope with difficult emotions. If you choose to subscribe to this channel, you can expect to gain a deeper understanding of your own mental health.

5. @nedratawwab

Nedra Glover Tawwab is a therapist (with 15 years of experience), two-time New York Times bestselling author, relationship and boundaries expert and, most importantly, a super comforting person to listen to. Each of her thoughtful videos are genuine, and she exudes nothing but kind, comforting energy. Trust us, you won't regret giving her a follow—listening to Tawwab alone is reassuring.
