Spy Kids' Mason Cook becomes a ranger and magician

He may only be 11 years old, but Mason Cook is living a life completely different than most kids his age. Seriously, how many can say they’ve starred in a hit movie with Jessica Alba? Not many, but Mason can. He played Cecil in last year’s Spy Kids: All the Time in the World and that was just the start of his movie career.

While doing press for Spy Kids last summer, Mason told reporters his No. 1 acting role model and idol is Johnny Depp. Well now his dream is coming true! Mason’s landed the role of Will in Disney’s new movie, The Lone Ranger (slated for theaters May 2013), starring none other than Johnny himself. “This is definitely the highlight of my career so far," Mason says. Yeah that would be the highlight of our lives as well!

As if that isn’t enough, Mason got booked for yet another upcoming feature flick, playing Young Burt Wonderstone in a new movie starring Steve Carell, Olivia Wilde and Jim Carrey called The Incredible Burt Wonderstone. Mason’s character is the young version of Steve Carell’s character, a Las Vegas magician who has lost his love for the art. Most of us can agree that Carell is hilarious and apparently Mason agrees, too. “He is one of my comedy heroes and is just as funny off-camera as he is on-camera,” he says.

We can’t wait to check out these new flicks and see what else Mason Cook has in store for us.

Have you seen Mason in Spy Kids 4? What actor/actress would you love to star in a movie with? Blog about it, babes.
