Work Hard Now, See Rewards Later
Nytimes.com recently reported that getting active as young as age 12 can help prevent breast cancer when you’re older.
In a study found in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute showed that women who were physically active as teens (specifically between the ages of 12 and 22) were 23% less likely to develop certain types of breast cancer. Don’t freak if you’re not super-athletic, though. A few hours a week of vigorous activity proved to help.
Active girls have lower levels of estrogen, which may be way they stay breast-cancer free longer.
The next time you’re sitting around watching TV for the 100th hour, keep in mind that a workout is much better for you in the long run. So what are you waiting for? Start getting active now!
