You’ll be entranced in the story of four 11-year-old girls, all who are battling different tests of life. Lizzie must deal with a brother who’s been away at war. Vanessa is an actress who dreams of getting her first big break. Jess is trying to deal with her parents’ divorce and the new man in her mom’s life. Peri has taken on the burden of her mother and must keep a secret from her best friends.

Mix these problems in with the usual stresses of adolescence, and you’ll be wondering how these gals can handle it all. Through the strength of friendship and family though, they will get through the rough summer—the last before the big leap to (gasp!) middle school.
