7 Hunger Games scenes we can't wait to see

In movies, there’s only so much you want left to the imagination. We don’t know about you, but when we read (and re-read) The Hunger Games, our imagination was running wild with all the imagery and crazy scenes.

And with the movie coming out March 23, the scenes we’ve loved reading—and envisioning—are finally going to play out on the big screen! Here are the ones we can’t wait to see come alive the most. Do you agree?

Spoiler Alert! If you haven’t read the book, and don’t plan on doing so before the flick, might wanna stop reading.

Katniss and Gale hunting in the forest

These two seem like such amazing friends, and don’t even need to speak to enjoy each other’s company. Seeing them getting their food and bonding in the forest, in their second home, will be incredibly sweet to watch.

Katniss volunteering to be a tribute

Tears will be shed in movie theaters across the world when people are watching this. The love Katniss has for her sister, Prim, is so great. By volunteering to be a tribute instead of her sis, Katniss is, in a way, trading her life for her sister’s. To see that love transcend from the book to the movie will be so emotional.

Katniss and Peeta riding in their tribute float

Stealing the show as “the girl on fire,” Katniss is already set to be a fan favorite. With Peeta by her side and his loving gaze…sigh, we can’t wait! The book describes their fire outfits as being absolutely amazing and outrageous, so we can’t wait to see if the movie does these justice.

Tracker jacker scene

Katniss is hiding in a tree and can’t leave because she’s being circled by her opponents on the ground. Her only hope? Knocking a tracker jacker nest onto her unassuming enemies! These are deadly insects, resembling wasps, but much more dangerous. Will it appear just as treacherous?

Katniss sings and decorates Rue after she is killed

Rue is extremely young, Prim’s age, and she becomes an ally for Katniss. Sorta like her sister during the Games. But when Rue is killed, Katniss takes the time to sing to her and decorate her body with flowers. This scene is so innocent and sweet, such a change from the rest of the Hunger Games scenes.

Peeta’s and Katniss’ first kiss

The world already knows that Peeta has feelings for Katniss, but nothing has happened between the two yet. That is until Katniss saves an injured Peeta by dragging him to a cave for safety. He’s afraid he wont survive and wants to tell her some things before he does. But Katniss won’t hear any of it and, in order to get him to stop talking, she kisses him! The whole saving-the-boy-then-kissing-him thing is so totally cute! We can’t wait to see their love in theaters.

Peeta and Katniss “committing suicide”

These two are the only ones left in the Hunger Games when Capitol officials decide to change the rules and say only one of them can be victorious. Peeta and Katniss couldn’t imagine killing one another, so they decide the only thing they can do is trick the officials by both (almost!) swallowing poisonous berries. This scene is definitely one of the most powerful in the book, so it should be absolutely incredible in the movie. Who doesn’t heart the idea of sacrificing things for love?!

Which scene are you looking forward to seeing most in The Hunger Games movie? Do you think the movie will be better than the book? Blog about it, babes.
