How TikTok's viral Tube Girl inspires us to unapologetically take up space

It girl selfie videos on public transport? Say less.

Sabrina Bahsoon has started a whole movement on TikTok as the viral Tube Girl. A recent graduate of Durham University in England (a slay fr), the 22-year-old makes her mark amidst the hustle and bustle of the London Underground, aka the "Tube."

To say the least, her trademark 0.5 selfie videos at the center of the public eye have the whole world watching.

Be honest: That made you wanna get up and dance, right?! With tens of millions of views and over 600 million (!) recreations of her iconic vids, Sabrina has officially started the #tubegirl trend.

Yep, it's a full-on It girl origin story.

Yeah, she *is* the moment.

We've all had times when we're tempted to downplay our accomplishments in front of others for the sake of seeming humble. But Sabrina—who grew up in Malaysia, studied law in England, created a global TikTok trend, walked the runway at Fashion Week *and* launched her Hugo Boss campaign—reminds us to embrace our wins, celebrate success and focus on goals that feel authentic.

She *is* the moment, and she knows it.

Who's staring? Who cares?

Sabrina's confidence and indifference when it comes to stares and judgment is totally mesmerizing. When asked if she's embarrassed, she just keeps on dancing: star-eyes emoji, but IRL.

@sabrinabahsoon Personally i think I’m slaying and trusssttt nobody cares #tubegirl shoutout to all the people who say hi while i made the videos - you make my day 🥰 #tubegirleffect ♬ sexy ass cars - frʌns

No, but srsly, everyone has felt self-conscious about what other people think. Sabrina reminds us that, tbh, they're all just strangers and you're just living your life. Who's looking and judging?! Scratch that...who cares?!

Take space, leave space

Sabrina's confidence and carefree vibe turn any place (including public transportation) into her personal stage.

She's unapologetically taking up space—and by sharing the trend for others to try, she's leaving space for all of us to join her. And whether it's literally dancing on the school bus, laughing loudly at your bestie's joke in the lunchroom without caring how you look, sharing your latest crochet project on TikTok or speaking up next time you have an important point to make in class, we're feeling more inspired than ever to be our full, fabulous selves everywhere we go.

Because, let's be real, we could all use a little #tubegirl energy right now.

@jiayuejenny Pls the way you can tell how nervous I was just by my camera movements #tubegirl ♬ original sound - habz.fx
