Who's good... and who's bad?

Possession, by debut author Elana Johnson, is a dystopian and futuristic story of love, rebellion and the hope for a better world. This complex plot blurs the lines between good and bad when the main character, Vi, is left to defend free will.

Good people, Goodies, and bad people, Baddies, are separated in this society run by the tyrannical, corrupt, and self-indulgent Thinkers who have the power to brainwash any member of society for personal gain. Vi knows the Thinkers have too much control and, because of her special powers, may be the only one capable of stopping them.

In an intense and action-packed story, Vi faces many challenges and is forced to reassess everything she thought she once knew. She is thrown into prison, which provokes her to join the rebellion in an attempt to save her boyfriend, Zenn, from the brainwashing Thinkers. In prison she meets Jag, the complete opposite of charming, well-meaning Zenn. Jag is a Baddie and convinces Vi to join the rebellion. Vi struggles throughout her journey to decide between Jag and Zenn…and who is actually the good guy.

Throughout this novel, readers lose sight of who is supposed to be bad and who is good. Vi’s fight is for free will and she wonders if there is a true division between good and bad people or if, maybe, there are both good and bad qualities in us all.

Be sure to pick up a copy of Posession (in stores now). The difference between good and evil is questioned, the right to a free society is fought for, and love is found.
