Falling for Hamlet

Who says Shakespeare can’t get a little bit of an update? In Michelle Ray’s new novel Falling For Hamlet, all of the action from the Shakespeare classic, Hamlet, is set in modern day.

Ophelia is a high school senior who lives a glamorous world of celebs, paparazzi and fame thanks to her status as daughter of a royal advisor and girlfriend of Prince Hamlet. But it’s not all that easy for our heroine. She is trapped by Hamlet’s situation and the fact that everyone wants to know exactly what he’s doing all the time, from her beau’s parents, to the magazine readers all over the world.

When Hamlet’s father suddenly dies, everything starts to spiral out of control, making Hamlet become crazier and crazier until Ophelia has trouble seeing the guy he used to be. Now she has to decide: Will she stand by her guy or her dad…or find some other way to make everything work out in the end?

Chicas who read this book will totally love the fact that a Shakespeare play (which is always led by a guy character) is actually being told in a girl’s POV. It’s a fresh take on a story that has been around for ages and is filled with intense drama, sweet romance and a ton of LOL moments.
