The winning Wisdom's Kiss book trailer...revealed!

GL and Houghton Mifflin invited you to direct, film and star in your very own book trailer for the "Reel Wisdom" contest featuring Catherine Gilbert Murdock’s newest novel, Wisdom’s Kiss. Now, we’re super excited to finally announce Jessie B. as our winner! Her video rocked…and we have a feeling we’ll see her name on the big screen one day!

Great job, Jessie! This trailer introduces us to Princess Dizzy, Tips and Trudy, who set out on an adventure to save their kingdom in Wisdom’s Kiss. They encounter a circus, a journey through the clouds and even a sword fight in this magical tale. But don’t worry—they get a little help from their sidekick, a witty cat named Escoffier. Sound like a fun read? It is!

Meet the director: Q&A with Jessie B.

Girls' Life: We hear you love to read! What's your favorite thing about it?

Jessie B: I like to read because its fun, and its easy! When you get into a really good book, I feel connected to the characters and I don't want to put the book down. Reading is like going through a magic portal.

GL: What inspired you to enter the Reel Wisdom contest?

JB: I was on the Girls' Life website, and I saw the catchy little sidebar for Wisdom's Kiss book trailers, and I thought it might be fun to try. I love to act and make iMovies with my friends, so I sent in a video.

GL: What was it like being the director of a book trailer?

JB: I had a lot of fun making the video, especially with all the costumes and capes and plastic swords.

GL: Take us behind the scenes of your trailer. How'd you create it?

JB: I taped the video in my garage, around the side of my house, and in my front yard. It was cold and windy that day, so I was able to get the blowing-in-the-wind feel to the cape and my hair. My little sister Kaylee held the camera for a few scenes, and my mom's hand was also in the video.
