Everything you need for a successful flight

Maybe you're looking forward to your dream semester abroad or maybe your mom *finally* agreed to let you go on vacay with your friend's family. No matter the travel plans, we have all the tips you need to ensure your flight is as enjoyable as possible. Keep reading for ways to stave off boredom, stay stylish and more while waiting for your boarding call.

1. Download music, TV shows or movies ahead of time

@momonatamada

Before your flight, make sure you have plenty of entertainment stocked up on your phone. Many streaming services, including Netflix and Spotify, allow you to download media so you can access it offline—which is crucial for a flight where your phone will be on airplane mode. Choose your fave T-Swift album, the latest episodes of Gossip Girl or any movies you've been waiting to see! (Here are 5 *amazing* playlists to get you started.)

Ofc, make sure your phone is fully charged or that your charger is easily accessible in your personal item.

Your flight might provide screens and access to movies. Just be sure to ask your flight attendant for a pair of earphones. Even if you brought your own pair, your headphone jack might not be compatible with the plug on the plane.

2. Plan meals accordingly

@itsjennaraine

Trust, your flight will be much more enjoyable if you don't have to listen to your stomach rumbling every five minutes. Many airlines offer complimentary snacks and drinks during flights, and you may receive full meals depending on where you're flying. Look into what you'll be offered ahead of time!

That being said, consider eating or buying snacks at the airport before boarding, especially if you have a longer flight or are traveling through meal times.

3. Stay organized

@annaastrup

There is *nothing* more stressful than being frazzled in line at security. Keeping all your documents and items in order will help your airport experience go smoothly.

Before leaving, gather your passport, driver's license, boarding pass and other paperwork you might need. Try getting a virtual boarding pass on your phone to take one item off your hands.

As for security, buy a clear toiletry bag for your liquids (make sure everything is under 3 fl. oz!). Wear shoes that can easily be taken off at security checkpoints. Store your laptop and electronics in a travel case that you can quickly slide right out of your backpack.

Tbh, taking a few minutes to organize your belongings is key to a seamless flight.

4. Wear comfy clothes

@hopeellenxx

Whether you have a short, domestic flight or an international red-eye, being cozy on a plane is *very* important. Opting for loose, breathable clothing will help you feel comfy and relaxed in the air. Don't forget to wear layers because you never know how hot or cold the plane might be.

Being comfortable doesn't mean you have to sacrifice style. Matching lounge sets or an oversized hoodie with flare leggings will have you looking cute but feeling your best at 36,000 feet!
