Dave Barnes - What We Want, What We Get

Attention musical misses! We’ve got a hot new album coming at ya: What We Want, What We Get by Dave Barnes.

Originally a South Carolina boy, Barnes mostly lived in Mississippi where he was raised by soul, blues and R&B styles. He’s toured with all sorts of hot artists like John Mayer, One Republic and even T-Swift.
This new CD is very relaxed and jazzy—totally chill, if you will.

The opening track, “Little Lies” is a really cute and beachy song about the beauty of our world and how we see it. Its “la la la” rhythm adds a flair that is just über adorbs. A definite fave, its catchy lyrics and beat are ones you won’t want to miss out on.

In the album’s title song, “What We Want, What We Get”, you can really see Barnes’ soft spoken voice countered with his strong, but simple, message of, well, what the title says! “Sometimes what we want, isn’t what we get,” which is so totally true. The easy-going melody matches the overall album’s feel and tone, making it a must-hear.

“Look So Easy” is another chill and cheerful love tune. Barnes turns up the volume with his message of affection and admiration. With its bouncy and beautiful beat, this jam is a necessity for your upcoming summer playlist.

Why we love this album? It has a certain pure and clean sound with an eclectic mix of jazz and acoustics that we totally adore. And an added bonus to those who love the album, Barnes is actually touring this spring! From April 6th to May 15th, he’ll be stopping in cities like New York, Atlanta and Nashville.
