Our favorite horror movie chicks


Ah, only one week ’til Halloween! We love horror movies—and the ladies who (usually) make it through them! They outsmart killers, do crazy stunts, and sometimes even grow stronger through it all.


Here are our top five seriously scary sistas. Be warned, some of these flicks will give ya a bad case of the goosebumps.


Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott in Scream
Sidney is the ultimate example of getting back up again when you are down. She's had four brushes with that ever-changing Ghostface killer and she always makes it to the end! C'mon, a girl has to be tough to be nearly killed by her boyfriend who you are totally into(and that was just the first movie).
Scout Taylor-Compton/Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode in Halloween
Two different awesome ladies have starred as Laurie and they both deserve some love from this list. Why does she totally rock? She's the younger sis of the crazy, crazy Michael Myers and is still super sweet.
Jodie Foster as Clarice Starling in Silence of the Lambs
Clarice is repping the smart gals! She has nerves of steel and manages not to get eaten alive (Yes, literally...).
Linda Blair as Regan MacNeil in The Exorcist
She may not be a heroine or even totally human through the entire film but, wow, she is really freakin' freaky! There is nothing scarier than throwing up pea soup and spinning your head like an owl.
Sissy Spacek as Carrie White from Carrie
Is she a villain or a heroine? It depends on how you look at it. For most of the movie, you feel for Carrie, but then she goes all telekinetic psycho on an entire school gym of teens. No matter how embarrassed you get, never follow her lead!
