CRUSHES

Advice

All crushed out!

I go to a pretty small school. It’s grades 7 through 12 and only has 300 kids, so it’s really had to find a date-able boy. I know so much about everyone since I’ve been with them since 2nd grade, and it seems like I’ve liked all of them at one point. How can I find a guy to crush on?

I totally know where you’re coming from. In high school, I was a part of a specialized program that kept me stuck with the same 12 guys every year. I saw them all the time, so those were the guys I focused most of my “crushing” energy on and after a while, it seemed like if I didn’t have a crush on one of them, I’d crush on celebs.

But there is hope. Sometimes it takes you changing up your scenery a bit and possibly changing up day-to-day routines.

Mix it up
I found that if I found a new hobby, a new topic of study or even went to a different place to eat, I was more likely to find someone different, new and possibly interesting without having to swim in the pool of high school.
Maybe a new hangout spot is in order, or maybe an interest in something you’ve always wanted to try but never did? Sometimes something as simple as a friendly trip to the library can cause you to catch the eye of the new volunteer library clerk.
Hang out with a different crowd
Do you have any friends who go to different schools? Maybe hanging out with them at near their schools can provide you with a new sea of guys just waiting to get to know you.

Let go
It’s also good if you take the attention off of trying to find guys and do something for yourself once in a while. The best crushes can come at times when you’re not paying attention! Good Luck!
