Here's why Chipotle is *so* not worth it
It’s been said that there is no greater love than the love of food, and that is never truer than at Chipotle (mmmm, burritos)––but unfortunately, there's a huge price your bod has to pay for that love.
According to a recent article in The New York Times, an average meal at Chipotle has 1,070 calories. That's more than half of what we’re supposed to have in just one day (the suggested intake is between 1,600 and 2,400). And that is no bueno.
Calorie counts can vary a little based on order and toppings, but it's still pretty easy to go over the 800 mark––add chips and salsa and a drink, and you're practically guaranteed to be eating half of your cals for the day.
While this may not seem like a huge deal when you’re young and on the go, eating a lot of unhealthy food really does add up over time. Frequent high-calorie meals can cause people to develop high cholesterol and diabetes, not to mention gain some serious weight.
Of course, we’re not sayin' that you should give up Chipotle (because that's just not right), but it might be a good idea to limit your burrito intake to once in a while and choose healthier options when you can.
