WE TRIED IT: Pulse Yoga Express DVD

As the temps drop and school gets busy, speedy indoor workouts are an easy way to get in some exercise. GL intern Olivia Arrington checked out Pulse Yoga to see if this DVD was a sure-fire way to shape up.

Yoga is fab, but the sad truth is that bending yourself into a pretzel and focusing on your breathing only stays fun for so long. Girls’ Life found the solution: the Pulse Yoga Express DVD. It’s a heart-pumping workout, perf for the girl who thinks “bo-ring” whenever the word yoga is uttered.

Unlike typical yoga, Pulse Yoga incorporates weights and lots of movement and only takes 30 minutes to finish. Plus, doin’ the DVD three times a week has been proven to create a smaller waist and help balance cholesterol. How cool is that?

As soon as I started the DVD, my blood was pumping. I could feel the burn in every muscle, especially in my core. One of the best parts was I didn’t get bored! I did the entire DVD without once wondering, “When will this be over?” While most of the workout focuses on strength and toning up those hard to hit places, I also like how the instructors fit in time to relax.

One cool thing about Pulse Yoga is the modified poses, in case the original is to tricky. Plus, the name really fits. The entire DVD revolves around pulsing, which makes it a full body workout. So grab a couple chicas, pop in Pulse Yoga and get headed towards a totally new workout experience.
