Tough Stuff

How to handle concert anxiety like a pro

It's officially concert szn, and you've got tix to see all your fave artists this summer. But do the cramped crowds, loud music and long merch lines have you totally stressed out? No sweat—here's some of the best advice from concert-goers on how to survive the night and make sure you still have a good time.

Bring a friend

@oliviarodrigo

Going to concerts alone can be pretty scary, so why not bring a bestie? It's so much more fun when you have someone to take pics with, talk to in between sets and be your bathroom buddy in a super cramped venue. Just hit up your friends and ask who wants to join you for your next show, and you're good to go! It's a great way to stay safe and to help keep your cool in the crowd.

Take earplugs

@loopearplugs

If you love live music but hate loud sounds, you *need* to try taking earplugs. They're perf for filtering out cheering, clapping and other background noise while still letting you hear the singer perfectly. If you don't wanna clash with your fit, try Loop brand (we're obsessed with their Quiet Solstice Earplugs, $25, loop.com). They look almost invisible in your ears and have so many dif colors to choose from.

Wear comfortable shoes

@jackierunsalatte

When watching HSLOT or Eras Tour GRWM vids, you've def noticed all the girlies wearing heels and boots. But standing all night in uncomfy shoes will totally ruin the vibe. Make sure you wear shoes that are cute *and* that you can dance all night in!

Bring a portable charger

@thebatterysource

If you take a billion pics at concerts, you're so not alone. But the more you record, the faster your phone battery drops. Don't miss out on recording the final act—take a portable charger instead! You never know when you or your concert buddy will need an extra charge. (Pro tip: Make sure you also put your phone on low power mode throughout the show.)

Merch lines

@haylorflorals

A cute tee or a cozy hoodie from your all-time fave singer is totally what you need to remember the night. But if you get in line before the concert, you might miss the opener...and if you get in line after, it'll take forever to get out of the parking lot. The best solution? See if the merch you want is available online. You won't have to wait in line *and* it comes right to your door.
