The nondefinitive ranking of the 1989 (Taylor's Version) vault tracks

1989 (Taylor's Version) is officially here! It's been a blast to hear familiar faves like "How You Get The Girl," "Clean," "I Know Places" and, well, pretty much the whole album. It's even more exciting, though, to hear the songs that Taylor pulled from the vault (aka songs that didn't make the original version of the album).

It's 2 a.m. in my room, and I'm giving *all* my vault track first impressions...

1: "Is It Over Now? (Taylor's Version) (From The Vault)"

This song encapsulates 1989 (Taylor's Version). Did anyone else catch the (potential) little references to other songs of the album (maybe "You Are In Love" and "Out Of The Woods")? But besides all the fun finds, this song has the sharpest of sharp lyrics with an uplifting pop beat. An instant fave—for the way I gasped at some of those ah-mazing lyrics alone.

2: "Say Don't Go (Taylor's Version) (From The Vault)"

Taylor was right in "New Romantics": Heartbreak is def the national anthem...and this is it. This tune made me think of "All You Had To Do Was Stay," but is it maybe even sadder? With lyrics like "I said 'I love you'/ You say nothing back," it might just be. I felt every single emotion.

3: "Now That We Don't Talk (Taylor's Version) (From The Vault)"

Those chats with Mom can really be so healing, and Taylor gets it (as always). Getting over something or someone is hard, but relieving, too. This song carries both that wistfulness and levity.

4: "'Slut!' (Taylor's Version) (From The Vault)"

I didn't really know what to expect with this one, but it ended up being a dreamy pop tune with some storytelling-esque song lyrics.

5: "Suburban Legends (Taylor's Version) (From The Vault)"

I love how honest and blunt this one is while still being poetic. So sorry it's last...but one of them had to be!
