Missing theater at school? These videos will make you smile!

For many students, the COVID-19 pandemic means postponed or canceled spring musicals. What could be a bummer, though, has turned into something quite inspirational, as many high school choirs, bands and theater troupes have found innovative ways to prove that the show must definitely go on. Here are just a few of the talented groups taking over the internet—bravo, ladies and gentlemen!

In Cobb County, Georgia, 500 students from 17 different schools banded together—literally—to perform Atlanta composer Tyler Grant's "Shimmering Joy."

Can you listen to "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and *not* smile? The students at Chino Hills High School in California prove it's just not possible. Their rendition has been featured on The TODAY Show and has over a million views.

In Memphis, Tennessee, 50 middle and high schoolers came together to perform "The Earth Song" by Frank Ticheli. The lyrics are all about how music can give us hope even through the most devastating circumstances—a perfect anthem for what we're all going through.

The students at Staten Island Technical High School in Staten Island, NY, were practicing for a stage version of The Drowsy Chaperone. With the fate of the production still up in the air, they connected from their individual homes to practice the show's opening number, "Fancy Dress."

Let the Wadsworth High School Off Broad Street Players calm your fears: as their song says, the "Sun is Gonna Shine Again." This talented group from Wadsworth, Ohio, were scheduled to bring their performance to a local competition called The Dazzle Awards, but when that got canceled, they decided instead to share their song with the world.
