Nothing can hold your attention like a good ol' mystery book! They're exciting, ominous, and at times, a little intense. But what if you're caught in the middle, seemingly stuck between age groups? When you're too old for Nancy Drew, but still want to read about teen sleuths, it's time to look in the young adult section. Check out these 3 must-read YA mystery novels for all the teens out there who are looking for a little thrill.
1. One of Us is Lying
One of Us is Lying is what happens when you take The Breakfast Club and sprinkle in a little mystery. The story follows four teens from vastly different social circles who are investigating the murder of a fellow student. Watch as they tirelessly look for the truth while trying to hide their own secrets.
2. Looking for Alaska
Miles Halter, or "Pudge," as his friends call him, is sent away to boarding school. There, he meets a student named Alaska Young, whose beauty and existential comments entrance him immediately. Their complex relationship comes to an abrupt end when Alaska is killed in a terrible accident, and it is up to Miles to figure out what happened that fateful night.
3. A Good Girl's Guide to Murder
The protagonist of this story is 17-year-old Pip Fitz-Amobi, who is still unsatisfied with a local murder case that was closed 5 years ago. Since then, nobody's tried to look into it any further, but Pip's curiosity gets the best of her, and she tries to uncover the truth.
