4 delish recipes to celebrate National Cheese Lover's Day

Whether Swiss or Brie, sprinkled over pasta or melted with bread, if you love cheese in all its shapes and forms, National Cheese Lover's Day on Jan. 20 is the holiday for you. Check out these four recipes for the most delish celebration. (And DW, if you're a lactose-sensitive gal, these dishes use hard cheeses like cheddar, Parmesan, colby and mozzarella that contain little to no lactose!)

1. Cheese tarts

Julie Blanner

Searching for finger foods that are both delicious and adorable? Look no further than these tasty tarts. Baked in a muffin tin (bc everything is better bite-sized), they are the perfect snack filled with cheesy goodness. Level up your dish by adding herbs (hellooo, chives), vegetables (we heart bell peppers) or proteins (turkey bacon is always a winner) of your choice. Find the full recipe here

2. Cheesy pull-apart bread

Family Fresh Meals

Cheese and bread (basically the two yummiest food groups) are the stars of this dish. Grab any premade biscuit dough from the grocery store and roll it into balls. Dip the balls in melted butter and sprinkle with as much mozzarella as your heart desires. (For a more complex flavor, you can add cheddar and Parmesan, too.) Find the full recipe here

3. Parmesan risotto

Good Eats

The name may sound fancy, but risotto actually only needs a few ingredients. Bring chicken stock to a simmer, then add cooked onions, rice and salt. Slowly pour in more stock and heat until all the liquid is absorbed before adding butter, pepper and cheese. You'll def feel like Gordon Ramsay after making this sophisticated recipe! Find the full recipe here

4. Cheddar cheese puffs

Elise Bauer

These rolls may look like cream puffs, but don't let their appearance fool you. Inside, you'll find warm savory cheese instead of whipped cream—perfect for a wintry snack. All you need to do is bring water, butter and salt to a boil in a medium pot and stir. Add flour, eggs and cheese to create your dough. Roll your dough into balls and bake. Find the full recipe here.
