New school, new you! How to embrace change and navigate new beginnings

Starting a new school can be both thrilling and nerve-wracking all at once. But we've got your back with a fab guide to help you slay your grand entrance. Get ready to step out of your comfort zone and make this chapter of your life amazing!

Join new activities

One of the best ways to make new friends is by joining activities both in and out of school! Whether it's signing up for the lacrosse team you've been wanting to try out for, auditioning for the school play or joining a book club, extracurriculars are the perfect way to make new besties. Not only will you be doing something you love, but you will meet tons of like-minded people, too.

Reach out online

If you're more introverted or feel nervous about approaching new people, don't sweat it: Tech is your BFF! Slide into those Instagram DMs and start a convo with someone new. Swipe up on their Story and ask questions (like, "Omg, your pup is so cute! What's his name?!"). You never know which online interaction could blossom into a real-life friendship full of inside jokes and unforgettable mems.

Find a study buddy

That girl in your math class who seems super friendly? Consider this your sign to reach out to her to see if she'd be down for a Starbs study sesh! Whether you have a test coming up or not, it can't hurt to do some reviewing with a new friend. Simply reach out to someone who seems nice from one of your classes. And if all goes well, you'll have a new study buddy.
