End of summer Olympics? Solid gold
Sigh, it’s already August. Squeeze every last drop of fun out of this summer and get a bunch of pals together to have your own End of Summer Olympics. If it sounds silly, well, it is. You’ll have so much fun it’ll totes become an annual tradition!
Excellent Events
Plan whatever events sound awesome to you. Water balloon tosses and capture the flag are a few of our summer faves, but you have total freedom here. Are your friends a bookish bunch? Crossword puzzle races are hilarious and delightfully nerdy. Do you guys love rockin’ out to jams? Pull up a playlist and have musical chairs--dance party style. Make this idea your own!
Thrillin’ Threads
There’s no “color” in “team” unless you put it there. Agree on team uniforms. Go bananas with bandanas or be team tie dye. Face paint also adds that intimidation factor that’ll give an edge to any girl. All that’s left is your team name. Choose wisely, get pumped, and cheer for your group through thick and thin!
Judging
Since most, if not all, of your friends will wanna participate in the festivities, ask a non-athlete (hee!) to keep score and play referee. If Mom or Dad are avail, they’d be a perfect fit for the job. Or maybe you could even ask older or younger sibs to play the part. Top off their theme with a whistle for calling foul play and scorecards to tally up the points.
The Winner is…
What’s an Olympic competition without medals? Make your own or have a trophy complete with bragging rights and an award ceremony. Get fancy and go dutch on a gift card or dinner for the victors.
