Get Some Exercise and Save the Planet

Saturday, September 25th is National Public Lands Day. All around the country people are stepping outside and showing the love for local parks, forests, wetlands and everything else under the sun.

A dose of fresh air and some time enjoying nature is basically the best way to spend a fall afternoon. And while hauling trash my not be tops on your to-do list, Mother Nature is totally in need of your helping hands. Last year, volunteers removed 900,000 lbs. of trash on that day alone. Whoa. Trust me, after a day of rolling old tires outta the woods with  your buds and clearing overgrown trails, you’ll be flat-out exhausted.

The Public Lands Day Project site has a ton of options to get involved all over the country. Check it out and get involved this weekend. No sites in your area? Go DIY and clean up a nearby park. Don’t forget to bring a friend, gloves and trash bags.
