How to throw a St. Patty's Day party that's actually cool
Decorate the Irish way
If you want your guests to really get in the Irish spirit, you’re gonna have to spruce up your place a bit. Grab green, gold and white streamers and balloons from the party supply store and turn your house a St. Patty’s Day palace. Bonus tip: pick up some shamrock necklaces at the party store as well and greet your guest with ‘em when they arrive.
Green goodies galore
St. Patricks Day is the one and only time it’s appropriate to walk around with a green tongue, so take advantage of it! Dish out the green M&M’s, Skittles, and jellybeans to satisfy your guest’s sweet tooth. You can even get super creative and make your very own Shamrock Shakes. But don’t skip on the healthy treats, babe. Kiwi, green apples, pears and grapes are naturally green and delicious...so be sure to serve those, too!
Get dance-y
Learning new things can be totally fun, especially when you’re with your pals. There’s no better dance to do at a St. Patty’s Day party than Irish step dancing, so why not try it out at your shindig? It might sound crazy, but you and your crew will have a blast trying out all the steps. To get started, search YouTube for tutorials and you will all be pros in no time. This awesome flash mob routine might give you and your pals some awesome ideas.
Remotes ready
Explore your DVD collection, Netflix and other movie sources to find the best Irish flicks to watch. The classic Disney Channel Movie Luck of the Irish is a must, but Leap Year and Tristian + Isolde should definitely be at the ready as well.
Send ‘em home with treats
Just because the party’s over doesn’t mean that you have to stop being the ultra sweetie that you are. Pack cellophane bag with gold chocolate coins then tie them shut with pretty green ribbon and personalized notes that read, “I’m so LUCKY to have you as a friend.” Your pals will def adore you for it!
