How to deal with embarrassment 101
Take deep breaths
After the embarrassment sinks in, take some deep breaths to calm yourself down. This can help you avoid saying or doing anything else that could possibly add to the embarrassment. Give yourself a minute to calm down and then carry on.
Laugh, laugh, laugh
Trust us, laughing it off won't make you look ridiculous. One of the easiest ways to get over your embarrassment is to just laugh at yourself. That way, everyone else is laughing with you and not at you. Just be sure you laugh your head off at the right time.
When you get embarrassed, it's best just to accept it. You can't go back in time, so what's the point in being in total denial? Just accept it in that moment so you can move on. But if you feel that it was super inappropriate then wait until you and the person who embarrassed you leave wherever you are and address it.
Don't make a scene
The absolute worse thing to do that will add to your embarrassment is to make a huge scene about it. When you get embarrassed don't get defensive. Although emotions may feel like they’re kicking in to overdrive, don't scream, shout, run away, or flat-out cry in front of anyone. The bigger scene you make, the more it'll stick with them. If you react mildly or not at all, they'll forget anything ever happened.
Finally, move on. In life, you will always get embarrassed in some way, shape, or form. Especially if the embarrass-er feels comfortable with you. So, if you get embarrassed in front of your friends, boyfriend, or family, they really like you!
