How to prevent dry skin in the fall

The arrival of fall brings many changes. Leaves turn to a crimson red, the sun sets quicker and the air gets cooler. Not to mention that your skin changes as well! That's right: The cool autumn air sucks the moisture out of your skin, leaving you to deal with dryness. No need to fret about your skin dilemmas, because we have some tips and tricks to solve all your problems.

Gently exfoliate

Exfoliation is a *major* key to achieving flake-free skin. Although physical exfoliation, such as sugar scrubs, are popular, they can be a bit harsh—especially if you have sensitive skin. The better option is to use a chemical exfoliant like the CeraVe Salicylic Acid Cleanser. This face wash gently removes dead skin buildup while also adding moisture back into your skin

Ditch the hot showers

We know that hot showers may sound tempting, but bathing in water that's too steamy can dry out your skin quickly. It can also cause irritation such as redness and peeling—ouch! Next time you grab your body wash and loofah, adjust the temperature to lukewarm. After you shower, don't forget to use a heavy moisturizer for your body. Trust us, you'll see a difference in the way your skin glows.

Buy a humidifier

Buying a humidifier is a simple way to add moisture back into your skin, after dealing with the dry fall weather. Not only does it add moisture to the air, but it also adds moisture to your hair—which can also get dried out from the cool outside temps. Using a humidifier is easy as pie. Just add water, press "start" and voila!

Use a heavy moisturizer

Switching to a thicker moisturizer is important for keeping your skin healthy and hydrated. The CeraVe Moisturizing Cream is the perf product for the job. It's an all-over body moisturizer, which means you can use it on your body and face.
