Demi drops tour, enters rehab
For anyone hoping to see Demi
Lovato perform with the Jonas Brothers as they finish up the South American leg
of their world tour, it’s not happening.
According to People.com, the 18-year-old Disney star dropped out of the tour this weekend and checked into a treatment facility for what seems to be “emotional and physical issues she has dealt with for some time.” So sad!
When we last spoke to Demi for our June/July 2010 issue, she opened up about being bullied in school, as well as insecurities she’s felt throughout the years, telling us, “I felt like I was heavy, even though I wasn’t...I wasted a lot of time trying to change for others. I could’ve saved myself a lot of self-esteem issues.”
But rumors that the pop princess has fought through eating disorders isn’t the only thing she’s apparently dealt with. There’s also been speculation of cutting, dating back to 2008 when photos surfaced of red marks on her wrists while attending bestie Miley Cyrus’ 16th birthday party.
All we have to say is we’re glad she’s getting help she needs. Let’s send good vibes Demi’s way. Stay strong, girly!
