How can I let him down easy?
There is this guy in my class who likes me. I think he’s super sweet, but I just don’t like him like that. How do I let him down without breaking his heart?
HIS ANSWER: There is no easy way to let a guy down. The only thing you can do to try to remain friends is to tell him that you appreciate his company and his friendship, but you don't want to be in a relationship with him. Of course this will be hard to say, but things that are hard to say are worth saying.
DECODED: It’s gonna be tough, but a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do. When it comes to feelings, nothing is easy. Be your sweet self and give the message personally and gently.
YOUR MOVE: I know it’s no fun, but do this in person and in private if you can. Be honest and let him know what you’re thinking. And one more thing: Don’t make a big deal about it in front of anybody else, even your buds. You don’t want to hurt his feelings any more, right?
