MAKE IT CUTE
Celebrate autumn with a harvest party for your besties
Grab your besties and gather 'round! We're here to help you plan a fall harvest party. Whether you decide to throw your party indoors or outside in the cool autumnal breeze (outdoor picnic, anyone?), we've got all of the deets to help you throw a party *perf* for the end of a bountiful season.
How to decorate
You don't need to do anything extravagant to have a well-decorated autumnal bash. Start with rustic placemats (such as rattan or wicker), and leave the rest to Mother Nature. You can put fruits, veggies and flowers on the table to add a fresh take on the festivities.
What to wear
The essential fall fit? Lots of warm colors—think reds, oranges and even brown—and lots of layers. (A fluffy sweater or cute turtleneck can go a long way!) Pair it with jeans or a pleated skirt. If the weather is hot and you're searching for a look with a fall feel that's also cute and casual, go for a nice sundress and pair it with some cowboy boots. Keep it simple and make use of accessories, like gold jewelry and a natural makeup look.
What to eat
What's a fall harvest party without the harvest? There are so many things you can do with produce, for both the savory and sweet-toothed girls. A charcuterie board gives you plenty of opportunities to incorporate fresh produce, while a caramel apple bar is beyond fun.
What to drink
Beverage girlies, this one is for you! Mix together apple cider, ginger ale and orange juice to make a fun and fruity cooler. Serve in a hollowed-out apple for extra fall flair!
What to listen to
For your party, you're going to need a soundtrack full of your fave fall anthems. Put aside those songs of the summer and trade them for cozy love ballads and acoustic pop tracks.
Need some help putting together the perf playlist? Of course, we have to mention Red (Taylor's Version)—the whole album is full of songs that give us those fall vibes, and you can't have your autumn party without playing 22 (Taylor's Version) at least once. We also heart beabadoobee, Conan Gray and Gracie Abrams.
What to do
You've got your decor, your fit and your snacks, now what? There's no rulebook to hosting your party—sometimes simply being around your besties is enough to have the best time. But if you need some ideas for some fall-themed festivities, look no further: Forget pumpkin carving and try pumpkin painting. Put your besties' art skills to the test and make it into a competition using your best acrylic paints.
